Dirk Breeuwsma
CEO Buy.O Benelux

Dirk is the CEO of Buy.O Benelux which supports public and private organization in the development and transformation of purchasing and Supply Chain function.
A University and MBA graduate, Dirk has more than 20 years experience in purchasing and management in industrial/operations, large multinational organizations across different industries, incl. ICT, Telecoms, Industrial Services, Chemicals and the Financial sector.

Before joining Buy.O, Dirk was first Purchasing & Supply Chain Director in the Chemical industry, where he restructured the complete supply management activity at both strategic and operational level. Dirk has then been the regional CPO for BT Group, leading the cultural and operational transformation of the in-country procurement operations.
Dirk has a solid experience in purchasing and management dealing with Executive Management on purchasing strategic issues. He develops purchasing strategies and their alignment on corporate objectives. Dirk is also supporting a range of international customers facilitating cost reduction and performance improvement programmes as well as managing transformation and outsourcing projects.

After more than 20 years in business procurement positions you now move into consultancy. WHY?
Firstly, I belief that my 20+ years in procurement leadership roles at different companies and across several industries has helped me to develop a clear view on the roles and added values that procurement consulting services can have for an organization. And belief me, I have seen both the good and bad versions! Moving into consultancy now myself with my background in procurement leadership roles will enable me to get well connected with CPO’s and provides me the opportunity to deliver consulting services that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Furthermore this step is also driven by a strong personal desire to continuously develop my talents, as well as to gain new skills and competences. I will enjoy new experiences as well as being intellectually challenged. Running a consultancy business with P&L responsibility, while building upon my two decades in procurement, satisfies all these needs and creates a lot of excitement, drive and energy with me.
Finally, the emphasize of Buy.O’s offering on strategies and transformations fits perfectly well with what I have always enjoyed most in my procurement career so far. Joining Buy.O simply means to me that I can now spent more of my time on what I like and do best.
